What a 150-Point Inspection Actually Covers

Every dealer advertises one. Here is the checklist we actually run, section by section.

"150-point inspection" has become a marketing line. Here is what ours covers, so you can compare.

Engine and transmission (32 points): compression, oil condition, coolant, belts, mounts, clutch travel, gear engagement in every ratio including reverse, and a cold-start recording.

Structure and body (28 points): chassis rails, apron, boot floor, pillar welds, panel gaps, paint thickness readings on all panels, and evidence of accident repair.

Suspension, steering and brakes (26 points): shock absorbers, bushes, ball joints, steering play, disc thickness, pad life and brake fluid condition.

Electricals (24 points): battery health, alternator output, every lamp, power windows, central locking, infotainment, speakers, camera and sensors.

Interior (18 points): upholstery, dashboard, air conditioning vent temperature, blower, all switches.

Tyres and wheels (12 points): tread depth on all five, date codes, alloy damage, wheel alignment and balancing.

Documents (10 points): RC, insurance, service history, challan check, loan and hypothecation status, blacklist check.

Anything that fails is either fixed before listing or disclosed on the report. We do not list cars with structural damage at all.
